How to use Google WalletTM
Add
Open the Google WalletTM app or download it on Google Play.
Tap 'Add to Wallet' and follow the instructions. Make sure NFC (Near Field Communication) is turned on when you are ready to pay.
Verify your card-i if needed. Then you're all set!
Tap
When you're ready to pay, unlock your phone and hold it near the reader.
Pay
Look for the check mark. That's it!
Compatible devices
Google WalletTM works on most NFC capable AndroidTM devices running Android 9.0 or higher.
Your device will also need to have Near Field Communication (NFC) capabilities and Host Card Emulation (HCE) functions.
Security Tips and Things you should know
- Keep your device under your personal control at all times. Depending on the device, you may be able to turn off the Near Field Communication (NFC) function when you are not using your device. If you lose your device, please call to the bank using the telephone number (s) provided on the back of your HSBC Amanah credit card-i as soon as possible to disable the token from your device.
- Do not allow others to unlock your device and do not store anyone else's fingerprint or biometric credentials in your device.
- Do not choose obvious numbers as device Passcode and remember to change it regularly.
- Remove the registered credit card-i on Google Wallet before sending your device for maintenance, repair or selling it.
- Do not install or launch Google Wallet in a smartphone or device with any pirated, hacked, fake or unauthorized application(s) or where the software lockdown has been overridden (such as "jailbroken" or "rooted" smartphone or device).
- Please ensure that your HSBC Amanah credit card-i is activated before adding your card-i to Google Wallet.
- You may remove your card-i anytime by tapping "Delete card" in the menu at the top right hand corner.
